App-free Facebook Competitions

For all businesses and brands, the recent changes to Facebook are great news! As business marketers, you can now run contests from your business Facebook Timeline without an App.

Here's a few 'Crowd-Searching' competitions that you can confidently use to reinforce customer loyalty and retention...

#1: 'Comment' Competition

If you're launching a new product or service, share a teaser photo in your Timeline post and ask users to Comment. Offer a few prizes for the best comments. This is easy and you'll also gain loads of valuable feedback!

#2: 'Like' Competition

To drive lots of Like entries for your Timeline post, keep it simple and ask a 'yes or no' question. Users shouldn’t need to think, they just need to click “Like” and they have entered! For instance, you can ask, “Who liked our Pre-Christmas Weekend Sale? Like this post for a chance to win a prize pack!”

#3: 'Comment & Like' Competition

Ask users to Like and Comment on your competition post to enter. Upload an image to your Timeline detailing your "Pre-Christmas Weekend Sale" . An appropriate prize would be a promo-code to use online, or gift-card to use in-store! Great for rewarding Facebook fans and getting the word 'out', which will bring in extra sales.

#4: Promote a Website Competition

For businesses wanting to grow their external email marketing database, use your Timeline to post the competition (that's located on your website). Ask Facebook users to share the link to your website competition. You’ll increase your email database if the right incentives are offered for your target market.

Here’s the restrictions...

Likes and Comments can be used as entries - Page’s cannot ask fans to “share” to be entered into their Timeline contest.

Non-fans that see your Timeline competition in their News Feed can also enter into your competition - Facebook still does not allow Pages to require users to Like their Page in order to be able to enter to win a contest.
