Contegro client Alfa Romeo ferried attendees to-and-from the event, and the new product was unveiled while guests enjoyed sparkling wine and catering from other client’s Villa Maria and Subway.
Contegro founder Vaughan Reed discussed the concept of Contegro and how the product was conceived to remove the developer’s role from the website lifecycle. “The vision for Contegro was to create a web CMS that would empower designers, not developers to define the possibilities in website creativity,” said Reed.
Reed provided an overview of the product and highlighted one of the major features of Version 4, the innovative Windows-style desktop. Reed also spoke about the flexibility and functionality that Contegro afforded.
Subway’s Marketing Manager, Jo Reynolds a client of Contegro also picked up on the theme of Contegro’s flexibility. “We went to Contegro with an idea for an online campaign and they were able to make it happen. The result of that campaign was an 400% increase of visitation to our website.” Jo continued to say the company has run several exciting online campaigns through Contegro since and Subway International are now looking to follow their lead.
Jo also spoke about the Window’s style development. “This latest version with its easy to use Windows system has made things even simpler – it really is now just push and play.”
Accredited Contegro Partner, Paul and Geri Fallon from Taupo brand and web development agency Fred, outlined how Contegro has provided huge scope for their business.
“We have built 23 websites now using Contegro, and it has been hugely instrumental in the growth of our business,” said Geri Fallon. “We’ve been able to pitch for the bigger customers and look at building websites anywhere from up 20,000 to 60,000 plus.”
Geri Fallon also spoke of the usability of the system. “We previously worked with a template-based web content system but it was quite complicated. Contegro is a far more flexible system of far greater quality. It’s going to be a huge part of our business going forward.”
Following the presentation, attendees viewed various laptops and screens stationed around the room and see the product in action.
Response to the launch was positive. “A number of businesses indicated an interest in learning more about becoming a Contegro Partner,” says Reed. “Many commented about the possibilities that Contegro could create for their business. There are some exciting prospects ahead.”
