Global Module Settings

Default and global module settings managed are applied to all new module instances at page and template level. Some of the settings can be over-ridden at page level while others can only be managed via the Administration > Global Module Settings application.

 

NB: Information relating to add-on module global settings can be found in the Add-On Modules section.

 

To update the global settings for core and add-on modules - open the Contegro Start menu and select Administration > Global Module Settings.

Update settings as required and click [Save].

Bread Crumb

Global_BreadCrumbSettings

Prefix

Set the character that appears after the first bread crumb value.  Alpha-numeric characters and symbols are supported.

Suffix

Set the character that appears after each bread crumb value.  Alpha-numeric characters and symbols are supported.


Category List

Category List global module settings

Note: Default category list module settings can be overridden at page and template level.

Thumbnail Width / Height

Set the default thumbnail width and height.

This setting is applied to all new instances of the Category List module added at page or template level.

Items to Display

Select the default items displayed in a category list (i.e. title thumbnail, summary, etc).

Display - Toggle the 'Display' tickboxes to set the items that are displayed by default.

Group (CSS Class) - Left click once (or double click) to add a DIV class for styling purposes when moving elements above or below each other or floating left or right.

Drag Me - Use drag-and-drop to to set the order of each item. To move multiple items, hold the CTRL button and left click select two or more items and drag-and-drop.

Show Member Pages

Check this box to show member only pages by default.

 

Note:  This option does not give public viewers access to member pages.  If a member only link is selected, site users are redirected to the login page. Once logged in they are automatically directed to the page originally linked to.

Summary Length

Set the default number of characters to show in the item summary.


Content

Content global module settings

Note: The default 'Capture Page Hits', 'Forward to a Friend' and 'Print this Page' settings can be overridden at page level. See also:

Manage List Settings

Capture Page Hits

Check box to capture the number of page visits by default.

The 'Capture Page Hits' tickbox (in the Attributes) will be enabled by default in all new pages.

'Forward to a Friend' button

Check box to add the Forward to a Friend button to your webpage by default.

'Print this Page' button

Check box to add the Print Page button to your webpage by default by default.


Display List

Display List Global Module Settings

Title

Add a title to your display list.

Selected Items

Add Items - Click [Add] to select pages and/or menu items. This is a global setting that cannot be overridden at page level.

Remove Items - Select an item and click [Remove].

Reorder Items - Drag items to a new position to reorder.


Login Form

Login Form global module settings

Custom Title

Add a custom title to the Login Form (optional).

Summary Text

Add a default summary to the Login Form (optional).

Email Address Label

Set the Email Address field label (e.g. 'Login ID', 'Username', 'Email Address', etc).

Password Label

Set the Password field label.

Password field

Remember Me Label

Set the Remember Me tickbox field label.

Show Remember Me

Check this box to show the 'Remember Me' tickbox.

Invalid Account Login Message

Customise the 'Invalid Account' message displayed when a user attempts to login with an inactive or deleted member account.
e.g. Your account is currently Inactive, please contact [Webmaster Name] & [Webmaster Email] for more information.

Forgotten Password

Show forgotten password link

Check this box to show the 'Forgotten Password' link.

Forgotten password link text

Set the Forgotten Password link text.

e.g. Forgotten Your Password?

Forgotten Password Link

Enter login email to receive reset instructions

Customise the message displayed above the Forgotten Password form.

Forgotten Password Link

Reset link is no longer active

Customise the message that is displayed if an inactive 'reset password' link is used.

This message will be displayed on the login page when the link in the Forgtten Password email is clicked.

Reset link has been sent

Customise the message shown onscreen when the forgotten password form is completed.

Password has been reset

Customise the message shown when a the user successfully resets their password.

Forgotten Password

Customise the 'Reset Password' email (body) message sent to members who use the Forgotten Password option.

Example:
Dear [FIRST_NAME]
A password reset has been requested for your account on the [SITENAME] website.  If you did not make this request, please ignore this email.
To reset your password, click the following link:

Return to login link text

Set the link text used to switch back to the Login form from the Forgotten Password form.

Add a title above the Reset Password form (optional).

Add a summary above the Reset Password form (optional).

Facebook Login

Enable Facebook Login

Check this box to activate the Facebook Login plugin.  Users will be able to create an account and login using their Facebook account.

Facebook Login settings are used by the Login Form and Member Registration modules.

App ID

Add your Facebook APP ID.

 

Note: If you have not done so already, create a Facebook App and enter the App ID here. 

App secret

Add your Facebook APP Secret.

Default registration page

Set the default registration page used to redirect users (who signup using their Facebook account).

The selected page must contain a member registration module.

Global Member Registration Settings

Approval Email Template

Customise the approval email template sent when a pending Contegro account (created via the member registration form) is approved.

 

Note: To review pending accounts, go to Contegro Start > Accounts > Members > Accounts.

Customise the approval email template sent when a pending Facebook Login account (created via the member registration form) is approved.

Page List

Page List Global Module Settings

Thumbnail Width / Height

Set the default thumbnail width and height in pixels.

TIP: By default, the more link text is set to display More»» . The default HTML code "&raquo" inserts right double angle quotes (») in the link text.


Search

Search Global Module Settings

Custom Title

Add a custom title.

This title is added to the Custom Title field in all new instances of the Search module added at template and page level.

Intro Text

Add intro text (or a summary).

The intro text is add to the Intro Text field in all new instances of the Search module added at template and page level.

Keyword Field

Set the default behaviour of the 'Keyword' field in all new instances of the Search module added at template and page level.

Display (tickbox) - Check this box to show the Keyword field

Label - Set a default 'Search' field label

Show Inline (tickbox) - Check this box to display the label inline.

Show Inline (enabled)

Search Form - Keyword Field Inline Label

Search Method

Set the default search method in all new instances of the Search module added at template and page level.

Display (tickbox) - Check this box to show the 'Results Contain' field

Label - Set a default 'Results Contain' field label

All/Any Words (radio buttons) - Select default search method for the Search form

 

Note: This setting can be overridden on the live site (by site users) and in the module instance settings (by site adminstrators).

Results Target Page

Set the results target page.

This page must contain a Search Results module.  Site users are directed to this page to view search results.

Category Behaviour

Set the global behaviour when searching using category filters.

Include In Search

Check all items that you would like to include in the search.

Starting Category

Where available, use this field to set the default starting category for content included in the search.

Select a single category to limit search results or leave as 'Root Level' to search in all content categories.

 

Note: This setting can be overridden in the module instance settings.

Advanced Search

Where available, select Category Tree or Drop Down Filters to allow site users to filter their search to a specific category.

Set to Disabled to only show results relating to the selected category in the 'Starting Category' field.

 

Tip: Select top level categories to display as separate drop down lists.


Search Results

Search Results Global Module Settings

Thumbnail Width / Height

Set the default thumbnail size of all images displayed in the search results.

Results Per Page

Set the default number of results per page.

Pagination

Check one or both boxes to show pagination above and below the search results.

 

NOTE: Numbered pagination will not show if the search results are set to Show on Scroll in the module instance settings.

No Results Message

Set the default message displayed on the live site when no results are found.

 

Tip: Here are some basic HTML tags for use in the 'no results' message.  Replace content between the opening and closing tags.

Items To Display

Click [Items to Display] to set the default items to show when a page(s) is displayed in the search results.

Tabs

Check this box to display search results in tabs (i.e. ALL | Pages | Products | Blogs).

Use the Visible boxes to show/hide tabs.


Site Map

Site Map Global Module Settings

Show Hidden Items

Toggle tickbox to show/hide hidden pages and menu items in the site map on the live site.

 

Tip: Use the 'Show on Menu' tickbox in the Attributes panel to show/hide pages and menu items.

Display as Alpha List

Set the default site map display.

Alpha Groups

Enter comma delimited alpha characters to set default break(s) in the alpha list.

In the example above, "g,p" is entered in the module settings.

 

Note: If no pages exist for the alpha character entered, the list will start from the next available character.


Unique Navigation

Unique Navigation Global Module Settings

Select pages and/or menu items to display in the Unique Navigation module.

This is a global setting that cannot be overridden at page level.
