Manage Digital Slides

Add-on Modules / Digital Signage / Slides

Streaming Media / Digital Channel

Slides are used to create the content for your digital communication channel/signage (e.g. staff notices, advertising, weather, traffic, videos, etc) . There are several default templates you can work with to create engaging content. When your slides are setup, you can assign them to one or more playlists.

 

To manage your digital slides, open the Contegro start menu and select Add-on Modules > Digital Signage > Slides.

By default, all active items are listed in the Slides tab.

Search fields are available if you want to locate a specific slide.

From the Slides tab, you can:

Add new slides to your digital signage or communication channel.

Edit or deactivate existing slides, copy the slide URL and preview slides at different screen resolutions.

Delete slides from your digital channel.

 


New slides

1.Click NEW SLIDE.

2.Choose a TEMPLATE.

Select slide template

Note:  There are 5 default templates to choose from - Advert, Advert-Left, RSS-2Rows, RSS-Horizontal & Weather.  Please consult with your Contegro product specialist if custom templates are required.

 

3.Update the slide ATTRIBUTES.

TITLE

Add a slide title or name. This field is mandatory.

The slide title is only used for admin purposes. It is not displayed on your live digital channel.

DISPLAY START

Set the publish start date for your slide.

This field is optional and can be left blank if you want to publish immediately.

DISPLAY END

Set the publish end date for your slide.

This field is optional and can be left blank if you want to use the slide status to control when the slide stops showing.

DURATION (seconds)

Set the slide duration (or how long the slide is displayed) in seconds.

TIP:  If adding a 'Video' slide, you can set the duration to zero (0) to play the entire video or set a duration to only play the video for specific number of seconds.

STATUS

Set the slide status.

 

4.DESIGN your slide using the settings available. Below is an example of the 'Advert' template image settings.

5.To preview slides:

i.Click PREVIEW.
and/or

ii.Use the [PREVIEW SIZE] options to view your slide at different screen sizes.

Browser compatibility - The output of your slides is best viewed on a WebKit browser (i.e. Chrome / Safari).  You may experience display issues if you attempt to preview slides in any other browser.

 

6.To save your changes:

i.Click SAVE.
or

ii.Click SAVE/UPDATE PLAYLISTS to update your playlists at the same time.

Key Info: The default time between syncs is 5 minutes. All saved changes will appear when a full sync has run.  See Location API Details report for the last synced date/time.

1.To edit your slide - open the slide settings using the edit icon  or click anywhere in the area marked below.

2.Update the Attributes and/or Design settings as needed. Below is an example of the design settings for a sample news slide/template.

3.To preview slides:

i.Click PREVIEW.
and/or

ii.For real-time viewing - click Copy URL to Clipboard and paste into a new browser window at 1920 x 1080 resolution.

iii.Use the [PREVIEW SIZE] options to view your slide at different screen sizes.

 

Review slide changes

Browser Compatibility - The output of your slides is best viewed on a WebKit browser (i.e. Chrome / Safari).  You may experience display issues if you attempt to preview slides in any other browser. 2) There is a short delay between making design changes and those changes showing on the URL.

 

4.To save your changes:

i.Click SAVE.
or

ii.Click SAVE/UPDATE PLAYLISTS to update your playlists at the same time.

Delete slides

1.Use the search filters to find your slide if needed.

2.Select Deleted in the [STATUS] dropdown.

Note: Deleted slides can be reverted to active or inactive before the next purge cycle; after which they are permanently deleted.
