Manage modules at template level

This section explains the following tasks relating to managing modules at template level:

Key Info: A minimum of Developer permissions is required in manage modules functions. See Manage Administrator Accounts.

 

1.Go to Contegro Start > Designer Tools and select Templates.

2.Within the Templates section, locate and select the template you wish to edit.
Select template you wish to edit in the Existing Templates section

3.Locate the module you wish to edit, click [Settings] and update as required, then click [Save].

4.Within the Confirm Save dialogue, click [Save Template] to continue or [Cancel].

5.If [Save Template] is selected in step 4, click [Update Pages]. You can enable/disable tickboxes to select which pages you wish to update.

6.Close the Templates window or manage container functions.

Lock Module

The [Lock Module] button allows you to lock modules in the page editor.  Toggle [Lock Module] button to set your preferred option.

Each module with the 'Lock' icon enabled will be locked.  The module instance cannot be deleted within the editor.

Each module with the 'Unlock' icon enabled will be unlocked.  The [Delete] button will be enabled and the module instance can be deleted within the editor.

Use the [Up] and [Down] buttons to reposition modules within the template container.

Delete Module

Select the [Delete] button to permanently delete the module instance (refer to note below).

 

Key Info: Deleting a module is not reversible. This action will unlink it from the database. If you then add the same module back in, the new module will be a different instance.

Select the [Add Module] icon to view a list of all the available modules and select the module you wish to add.

Key Info: Site administrators with 'Manage Templates' permissions can access templates and update existing module settings.

 

1.Go to Contegro Start > Designer Tools and select Templates.

2.Within the Templates section, locate and select the template you wish to edit.

3.Within the Template Containers, locate the template container where the new module will reside and:
(a) Click the[Add Module] button in the Container Functions section to add a module to the top of the container.

or,
(b) Click the [Add Module] button module (in the module row) to add a module below the existing module.

4.Select the [Settings] button to open the module settings window.  Edit module settings as required, click [OK] button to close module settings pop up and click [Save].

Note: See Core and Add-On Modules for more information on module settings.. Repeat steps 3 &4 as often as required, then click [Save].

 

5.Within the Confirm Save dialogue, click [Save Template] to continue.

6.If [Save Template] is selected in step 5, a second window will open displaying a list of pages currently using the updated template.  Enable/disable tickboxes to select which pages you wish to update and click [Update Pages] button.

Key Info: Ensure that all selected pages are currently active in the Editor, as any template changes will not be applied if a page is inactive or locked for editing.

 

7.Close the Templates window or manage container functions.

3.Within the Template Containers section, locate the module you wish to edit and select the [Settings] button Module Template Settings Button to open the module settings window.  Edit module settings as required, click [OK] button to close module settings pop up and click [Save].

4.Within the Confirm Save dialogue, click [Save Template] to continue or [Cancel] to cancel save.Confirm Save Dialogue

5.Close the Templates window.
