Site Map

The Site Map module displays a site map with links to all pages in your site map. The site map can be published as a bulleted list or an alpha list (pages grouped alphabetically).

SEO Tip: A 'sitemap.ashx' file is generated when your website(s) is first created. This dynamic file is automatically updated whenever you make any changes to the site tree.  If you currently use Google Webmaster Tools, you can point to this file by appending /sitemap.ashx to your primary domain name (e.g. http://www.contegro.com/sitemap.ashx).
The robots.txt (which resides in the root folder) references the sitemap.ashx file by default. (To test this, append /robots.txt to your primary domain - e.g. http://www.contegro.com/robots.txt).  If you have a custom sitemap file that you would prefer to use, update the robots.txt file in the root folder or add a copy to the site's data /Templates folder.

This section explains the task of managing a Site Map module settings:

1.Open the page where the Search Results module resides.
Open page

2.Open the module settings and update as required.

3.Click [Save] to save changes or [Publish] to update the live site.

Key Info: Step 3 refers to the one person workflow scenario.  If your site uses the two person or three person workflow scenario, the Publish button will not be displayed until submitted changes have been approved.  Refer to Workflow Scenarios for more information.
