Member Registration

Add a member sign up form to your site; which can be constructed, designed and integrated to your exact requirements.

 

Depending on your preference, new member accounts can be set up as active or pending approval. As an added bonus, the Member Registration module also includes the Facebook Login plugin option. The plugin provides site users with the options of using their Facebook account to sign up/login to member only areas.

 

TIP:  (i) Update multiple pages simultaneously - add/manage member registration modules via the Template Manager. (ii) See also - Manage Modules.

 

Manage Registration Forms in the Editor

1.To add a registration form - open your webpage in the Editor and add a Member Registration module.
To manage an existing registration form - go to step 2.

2.Open the module settings.

3.Update settings and click [OK].

Check box to use the settings managed at template level.

Note: Modules added at page level are not linked to the Template Manager and do not show this setting.

Form Title

Add a form title (optional).
This title is for internal reference only and is not displayed on the live site.

 

Heading tag - For Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) best practice, there should be no more than one Heading One <h1> tag and  no more than two Heading Two <h2> tags on a page at one time.  The 'Heading' dropdown allows you set the Heading tag that surrounds the registration form title. To update the Heading tag, select a value from the dropdown.

 

TIP: Use the Heading and/or Description form elements in the Member Fields Manager to add a section titles to your form.

New member group(s)

Select one or more member group(s) that new members will be added to.

To select groups - Click [Browse] and move one or more groups from Available to Selected.

To remove  groups - Click [Browse] and move one or more groups from Selected to Available.

New member status

Set the status of new member accounts.

Pending - All new member accounts will be sent to an approval queue in the member manager

Active - All new member accounts will be active.

oAuto login upon registering (tickbox) - Check this box to automatically redirect new active members to the member group 'login redirect' target page.

 

TIP:  To review pending accounts, go to Contegro Start > Accounts > Members > Accounts.

Items to display

Click [Please Select] to choose your registration form fields.

 

TIP: Enable Facebook Login and allow site visitors to use their Facebook account to signup/login.

Show captcha

Check this box to add a captcha control to your form.

This helps to reduce unlawful and annoying spam submissions of your registration form.

Confirmation message

Add an on page confirmation message which replaces the form when successfully submitted (optional).

This message is displayed if no target page is set in the Redirection Page field below.

 

Note:  Confirmation messages can include the following four variables to control variable (dynamic) information. These values are case sensitive and must be entered exactly as shown: 
[FIRST_NAME]
[LAST_NAME]
[COMPANY_NAME]|
[EMAIL_ADDRESS]
 
Example: Thank you [FIRST_NAME], the member sign-up form has been submitted successfully.  Your login details will be emailed to [EMAIL_ADDRESS].
 
Here are some basic HTML tags for use in the confirmation message.  Replace content between the opening and closing tags.
<strong>Bold Tag</strong>
<em>Italics Tag</em>
<u>Underline Tag</u>
<h1>Heading 1 Tag</h1>
<h2>Heading 2 Tag</h2>
 
Press Enter or Return to create a new paragraph.  You do not need to include a break tag <br />.

Redirection page

Set a redirection page (optional).

Users are redirected to the redirection page once the form is successfully submitted (see Auto Redirect field below).

 

To set a target page - Click [Browse] and select an active page.

To deselect a target page -  Click [Browse] and select the top node in the tree.

 

Note: If the 'Auto Redirect' field is checked, new members will be automatically redirected to this page. If unchecked, a link will show in place of the form. Example: Thank  you Sam, the form has been submitted successfully. Continue

Auto redirect

Check box to enable auto redirect once the form is successfully submitted.

 

Note: This setting will be ignored if no redirection page is set (see above).

Registration recipient

Add one or more email addresses (comma delimited).

Each recipient will receive notification of new member registrations.

Registration sender

Set the confirmation email sender (optional).

 

Note: This setting is linked to the 'Send Confirmation' field below. Confirmation emails are not sent if the 'New Member Status' is set to Pending.  To review pending accounts, go to Contegro Start > Accounts > Members > Accounts. 

Sender email address

Set the confirmation email sender address (optional).

 

Note: If this field is left blank, the confirmation email sender will use the webmaster address.

Sender name

Set the confirmation email sender name (optional).

This setting is applied to the confirmation email sent to new site members.

 

Note: If this field is left blank, the confirmation email sender will use the webmaster name.

Subject

Set the confirmation email subject.

 

Note: This setting is linked to the 'Send Confirmation' field below. Confirmation emails are not sent if the 'New Member Status' is set to Pending.  To review pending accounts, go to Contegro Start > Accounts > Members > Accounts. 

Message (Contegro accounts)

Customise the confirmation message send to members who sign up using the Contegro Login.

 

Notes: (i) If the 'Send Confirmation' field below is unchecked, this message will not be sent. (ii) Confirmation emails are not sent if the 'New Member Status' is set to Pending. To review pending accounts, go to Contegro Start > Accounts > Members > Accounts.

Message (Facebook logins)

Customise the confirmation message emailed to new members who use their Facebook account to login/sign up (optional).

 

Key Info: This setting is only available if the 'Enable Facebook Login' tickbox (Login Form global settings) and 'Facebook Login' (items to display above) are enabled.

Send Confirmation

Check this box to send a confirmation email sent to new site members.

Login Form Settings

Contegro login

The member registration module is designed to display a Login Form (within a modal window) if the email address entered in the member registration 'Email Address' field  is linked to an check existing member account.  Site administrators can use the settings below to manage the login form settings.

Check this box to allow Contegro members to login using this form (optional).

Contegro members are created:

Via the member registration module

By site administrators in the Member Account Manager

Custom Title

Add a custom title to the Login Form (e.g. Existing Member Login, Member Login).

Heading tag dropdown - Set the heading tag for the Login Form custom title. See also search engine optimisation (SEO).

Summary Text

Add summary (optional).

e.g. "The email address entered is link to an existing member account, please login below or click Cancel to enter another email address".

Email Address Label

Set the Email Address field label (e.g. Login ID, Username, Email Address, etc).

Site members use this field to enter their email address or login name.

Password Label

Set the Password field label.

Remember Me Label

Set the 'Remember Me' field label.

Remember Me

Show Remember Me

Check this box to add the 'Remember Me' field to the login form (optional).

Auto Focus on Email Address

Check this box to enable auto focus on the Email Address field (optional).

When the page loads, it will auto scroll to the position of the Login Form.

Forgotten Password

Check this box to show the Forgotten Password link in the Login Form (example below).

Set the Forgotten Password link text (e.g Forgotten Your Password?).

If site visitors use the forgotten password function, an email will be sent to the member which contains a reset password link.

 

TIP: Forgotten Password reset messages and the Forgotten Password confirmation email can be managed in the Login Form global module settings.

Set the 'Return to Login' link text (example below).

4.Click [Publish] to update your site.
