Canoe Racing New Zealand (CRNZ)
Since New Zealand’s first participation in the Olympics, one of the major success stories to date belongs to canoeing, or kayaking. Over the years, and across the various disciplines, we’ve won 5 golds, 2 silvers and a bronze, and have gained a world wide reputation for excellence in this sport.
Wishing to build on this success, but recognising the competition with so many other sports, CRNZ recognised they’d have to improve on the way the sport was marketed. A major element to this was their website which they felt simply wasn’t doing a good enough job, lacking in visual appeal and also severely limited in terms of the options available to them in managing the content through the content management system (CMS).
After speaking to a range of website providers, CRNZ finally decided on us here at Labyrinth Solutions. The reasons were threefold:
- We had a proven record in good quality custom designs, and showed our understanding from the outset the design brief given to us.
- The CMS we use is Contegro, already well proven in the market amongst a range of well known organisations and businesses, and offering both functionality and ease of use, exceeding anything else they’d looked at.
- The fact that we offer ongoing strategic consultancy, allowing CRNZ to evolve a range of online strategies under the guidance of full time industry specialists.
Feedback on the new site has been extremely positive, both within the canoe racing fraternity and amongst other sports governing bodies, and the belief is that canoe racing in NZ has now set the foundations for some solid growth over the next few years. Who knows, this new website could well be instrumental in some medals in London in 2012 and again in subsequent Olympics?
